The Yin and the Yang was a comedy written by Hopper, Fonda and Sherman. Although it never received financing, it became a major influence for Easy Rider according to Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda and it gave birth to the movie that changed Hollywood!

Here's what Dennis Hopper said about this screenplay in a 2008 interview:
    How
    Easy Rider
    was born.
"Peter Fonda and I were doing motorcycle movies: I did one called
    The Glory Stompers
    and Peter did one called
    The Wild Angels
. Jack Nicholson did one called
    Hell’s Angels on Wheels
, all at American International Pictures. Peter had read 1 thing I wrote with Stewart Stern called
    The Last Movie
, and I’d wanted to make it as my first film. Peter loved it and went around trying to raise money to make it, but wasn’t successful.
We’d promised each other that if we were going to do a movie, that it wasn’t going to be a motorcycle movie. So we wrote a screenplay together with a standup comic named Don Sherman called
    The Yin and the Yang
, a comedy, and we couldn’t find financing for that either."
After this screenplay was rejected by major studios, they came up with the idea for Easy Rider!
Here's what Peter Fonda said about it in 2010:
"We ran around L.A. to all the cool spots, always feeling there was something we knew that others didn't. We wrote an abstract comedy that he wanted to call
    The Yin and the Yang
. I tried to explain the bended-word nature of the yin-yang idea, but he insisted — and when Dennis insisted, things were generally done his way."
