the collection of a well known Hollywood-based movie historian, collector, author, archivist and intimate of the late great Hal Roach, comes this holy grail item for Roach fans. An original Musical cue sheet to the classic Laurel & Hardy feature, BLOCK-HEADS. Cue Sheet dated August 17, 1938 was used to document the composer, Publisher and duration of every piece of music heard on the film's soundtrack. Compositions all recorded at the Hal Roach Studios in Culver City give the usually unknown name of the musical piece (such as “Battle Music,” “The Trench”, “Sunflower Waltz' “Soldier's Home” “Football Hurry”) and many others all composed by
Marvin Hatley.
This
information would serve as the official record of all the music included in the feature and provided to the U.S. Copyright office and all necessary personal of the Hal Roach and MGM Studios. Hal Roach Studios file copy is noted as production F-22. Three page Cue Sheet is in very good to fine condition. Pages are supple and cream colored, showing little if any age wear with a 1” tear on the right
side border at the midpoint. U
