auction is a shop made replacement spiral drive gear for a K&T 2HL horizontal mill. This is the 38-tooth spindle drive gear to power a “Heavy Duty Universal Milling Attachment or Heavy Duty Vertical Milling Attachment”.
What you are buying is a 38-tooth 9DP right hand helix gear. This will mount into the NMTB40 spindle, and mesh with the 26-tooth 9DP left hand helix gear inside vertical head. Picture included of dimensions.
This is a shop made gear out of HR 1045 steel, and it will not be heat treated as I currently do not have those capabilities. See in the pictures the gear is not 100%complete, and would need the following completed by purchaser:
1.) Mill a slot into back of gear to accept spindle drive dogs
2.) Drill & counterbore 4 holes to match bolt circle on spindle face
3.) Mount on NMTB40 arbor
